Ashley Sharpe

Technician

Ashley has a Masters degree in Touring Theatre. As part of his training, Ashley has not only studied acting and performance but has also received industry level training in technical and administrative skills for professional theatre.

Alongside his work at TACT, Ashley is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Worcester. Ashley also provides technical support for the theatre department at the University.

In 2015, Ashley joined the TACT Aspiring Musical Directors course and subsequently worked as an Assistant Director, Assistant Musical Director or Technical Director on all of TACT’s large-scale productions. TACT gives Ashley a ‘home’ to his musical theatre roots.

In 2016, Ashley played the lead role of Michael in a production of ‘Skellig’ that toured around Worcestershire and Shropshire before being selected to perform at the National Student Drama Festival (NSDF). In 2017/18, he performed in a piece of new cabaret theatre called ‘Club Paradise’ which was toured around colleges in the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Gloucester, as well as appearing at the Birmingham MAC. ‘Club Paradise’ has now been selected to perform at The Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, taking Ashley’s touring portfolio international in the summer of 2019. Most recently, he has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018 with a piece of new theatre called Me, Myself and A.I, performing the brand-new devised piece for the entirety of the Fringe festival.
