Ross Doodson

Owner, Producer & Musical Supervisor

Ross has produced, directed and musically directed well over 150 productions over the past 16 years. Ross is a music and arts education specialist and combines his work as musician, musical director and teacher. Ross is the Designated Safeguarding Lead for The Arts Centre Telford.

Ross is a Senior Leader at Brownhills School in Walsall, where he has been Director of Performing Arts for 12 years. His department boasts one of the largest school choirs in the region, which have won national competitions and performed at several high profile events across the country. Prior to life at Brownhills, he was Music Coordinator at Muxton School for 2 years. Ross has also worked as a Music Education Consultant and provided support as Interim Director of Music for Broadway Academy in Birmingham for a term in 2016.

Ross is responsible for oversight of all music at TACT, regularly musically directing productions, conducting VIP and ‘Pink Flamingos’ - the senior youth choir. He also teaches singing as part of the 1-to-1 singing programme, with his students achieving outstanding examination results and regularly progressing to vocational study at professional stage schools.

For a decade, Ross was an Associate Musical Director and regular vocal coach for Aberystwyth Arts Centre, one of the largest and leading arts centres in the UK. Ross was Musical Director for the Oakengates Youth Summer Project for 8 years. Ross has also been a guest MD for Simply Theatre, Switzerland’s premier English speaking theatre academy, as well as several other theatre companies in the West Midlands. Ross has conducted choirs and orchestras across Shropshire and is the founder of Voices in Partnership, an audition only theatre and vocal harmony company, which is TACT’s flagship performance outlet.

Ross is an experienced school governor and is Chair of Governors at the federated Millfield Primary and Alumwell Junior Schools in Walsall. Additionally, he is currently Interim Chair of Governors at Newport Infant School. Ross is a Trustee of the Schools Arts Trust, an arts education charity supporting schools in Shropshire to become arts rich.
