A Thought From Our Students: Lucy Skidmore

“My year at TACT”

In a year of constant change and uncertainty, I am beyond grateful for the online opportunities that Team TACT has provided me with. As well as allowing me to further my training, using zoom so frequently taught us all how to adapt to “the new normal” and gave us the chance to keep performing no matter what the circumstance. Another benefit of TACT Online was the ability to take on even more classes than I was already doing in person. For me, this was really exciting. Branching out into the different areas of performing arts tuition TACT provides was both very educational and also refreshing to find new things that I love doing.

During my zoom classes I feel that I improved massively. Trying new techniques at home, that I had all the time in the world to practice, led me to personal breakthrough after breakthrough. Although it had its downsides, it seems that going online could have been a blessing in disguise. I mean, just look at all the time we had to practice!

In Concert II and all of the Studio One: Spotlight On concerts we’ve had so far have been a real highlight of TACT’s online journey. I had never thought that online performance was possible past pre-recorded concerts, but it is! I am so thankful to Team TACT for doing the incredible job of organising all these virtual shows, I cannot begin to imagine how much work went on behind the scenes.
